Whether or not being silent is not subject to inward control, but the environmental noise which results in anxiety. If some attempt can find a solution, Chinese herbal formula may be the answer.
I hope that by wearing wearable devices to hear and smell, Patients with selective mutism could sense still objects, feel the wonderfulness of pleasure, alleviate the symptoms and even become known and valued by the public.
缄默与否，可不受内在所控，而源于环境之噪音使其焦虑。若有人想缓解其道，可寻中草药方可答之。我希望以可穿戴设备，从听、嗅觉中感知静态的事物，感受愉悦的芬芳，使症状亦可缓解，甚至被大众所知，所重视。
关于选择性缄默症的调研
Based on the research, Selective mutism is an anxiety disorder where a person is unable to speak in certain social situations, such as they are expressionless and silent at school, but they can talk at home or play with their relative normally.
Yiqian Huang, a psychiatrist, pointed out that people who are sensitive to sound and prone to anxiety tend to feel more anxious in a noise environment of 80 decibels for a long time.
About the material, Huang Suiping, a renowned Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, said: “Aromatic Chinese herb, such as Pogostemon Cablin and Herba Eupatorii makes people happy and relives anxiety. Meanwhile, 80% to 90% of kapok is composed of fiber thus has good effect on absorbing noises.”

From the investigation of the symptoms of Selective Mutism, it can be seen that children with selective mutism are expected to be able to speak, but this makes the mutism worse. Based on this, I decided to design wearable hats, ties.
根据对选择性缄默症症状的调研可以看出，患有选择性缄默症的儿童被期望能够说话，但这种期望反而会使缄默症状加重。基于这一点，我决定设计可穿戴的帽子和领带。
The experimental materials close to the ear and nose, thereby easing the anxiety of children with selective mutism.

The material will be covered with soft and short fluff, to offer the children better wearing experience and a more artistic appearance.

材料试验
In order to better solidify the Chinese herbal medicine so that the device is wearable, I tried to integrate flour with the herbals by a series of different proportions until I got a more stable material.
Then I decided the color – I used the natural color to heat herbal medicines- Pogostemon Cablin, Herba Eupatorii and Kapok- with various proportions, then added colored herbal medicines in order and boil other materials together.
为了使中草药更好地固化，从而使该装置具备可佩戴性，我尝试将面粉与草药按一系列不同比例混合，直到获得一种更稳定的材料。
随后我确定了颜色——我使用自然色素，将藿香、佩兰和木棉按不同比例混合加热，然后按顺序加入已染色的草药，并将其他材料一起煮沸。
产出
The final product are the wearable accessories mainly made from herbal medicines.
最终的成品是以中草药为主要原料制作的可穿戴配饰。
